Joy of Beauty ™️ wins Second Place at Pitch Competition while Showcasing their Diabetic-Friendly Body Care and Lifestyle Products at the largest B2B trade show in North America

Joy of Beauty ™️ Debuted its Poppyseed & Kokum Whipped Body Butter Scrub at CosmoProf North America on July 12-14, 2022. The brand has been around since 2018 but has grown from two – seven SKUs to round out this entire body care line. “Being a vendor at the leading business-to-business beauty event in North America was an exhilarating experience.” Joy of Beauty ™️  showcased their products amongst other Black-owned beauty brands in the highly anticipated “Discover Black Owned Beauty Section”, located in the West Hall.  Spectators and prospective buyers gleefully participated in a hands-on demo experience from the brand owner, Joy A. Johnson, walking away with new knowledge of the Diabetic-Friendly brand. The competition, sponsored by Glosswire, in partnership with Cosmoprof North America, featured over 80 beauty entrepreneurs who pitched their inspiration behind their brands.

Joy of Beauty™️ is a body care and lifestyle brand that provides products that cater to diabetics and those in health-sensitive communities.  This includes people living with cancer and recovering, the elderly, allergy-prone, sensitive skin-prone individuals, nursing mothers, children, and those with limited mobility who need special care. This demographic is very special to Joy because of her personal experience with understanding the need for safe products. She lost her mother who had metastasized breast cancer when she was just 16 years old, now she is one of the primary caretakers for her elderly grandmother who is 91 years young. Having had a program in the past with her spa called Survive and Thrive, Joy offered FREE monthly services to cancer fighters while they battled the disease.

Now, Joy, a 15-year-beauty industry veteran, has combined her experience as a full-service spa owner that caters specifically to health-sensitive communities and began her inception of the Joy of Beauty™️ brand.  “Everyone knows someone with cancer and diabetes; a friend, family member, or themselves.” Diabetes especially affects the African American community. One-third of adults are living with a chronic illness.  Of these illnesses, Diabetes affects the African American community at a disproportionate rate of 60%*.  Motivated by this statistic, she created body-care products for those that would fall into one of these categories. Still, because it’s all-natural and made from such high-quality ingredients, it’s safe to be used by anyone!  Joy of Beauty™️ products can be used with confidence for our most vulnerable customers to those that are not vulnerable.  The brand’s philosophy is “If it’s safe for a diabetic, it’s safe for all of us, including cancer fighters, new moms, eczema sufferers, and those with and without sensitive skin.”

“Not only do we cater to a very important but often overlooked community that doesn’t have a large base of products to choose from, we are proud to be black-owned, vegan, cruelty-free, artificial dye-free, fragrance-free, toxic-free, diabetic-friendly, all-natural ingredients brand.” – Joy A. Johnson.
